Unitarian Fellowship Programs, 2012

COME JOIN US IN A FREE AND RESPONSIBLE SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH! We invite the public to join us at these programs. For a listing of the program activities this month, see the Fellowship's Monthly Calendar.  Also, you may link to the groups that have their own page of information in the text below.

STUDY GROUPS:

Circles of Renewal: Each month we will use music, prayer, readings, and silence together to create a spiritual focus. This intentional experience is open to all who come in respect and trust. For more information, contact Bill Sasso at bsasso@juno.com or 618-529-2439.

Building Your Own Theology is a Unitarian Universalist adult curriculum focusing on five major questions:  Who am I? How do I know? Who or what is in charge? What is my purpose in life? and  What does my death mean? These five big questions form the framework of the course; at each meeting, we will deal with one of these questions Groups will be forming again soon. Registration is required; each session requires advance preparation. To register, or for more info, contact Bill S. (529-2439 or bsasso@juno.com).

Covenant Groups: The Fellowship's covenant group program -- now in its 6th year -- builds friendships and community through the sharing of personal experiences and insights in small group conversations. The questions go deeper than the average social conversation, inviting reflection on how one's life and values have been formed in a safe and supportive context. Groups meet monthly on different schedules. For more information, contact Bill S. (529-2439 or bsasso@juno.com

Feed My Sheep:  A local Social Action Committee program, Feed My Sheep teams with Bethel AME church of Carbondale to provide a free meal for anyone who comes.  The first Tuesday of each month, six to eight volunteers buy, prepare, cook and serve food to 30 to 50 people at the church.  Approximately 70 carry outs are also prepared and delivered to home-bound people all over Carbondale.
We wash all the equipment and clean the entire location.  It is an excellent program which is very beneficial to those who need this type of help and to the volunteers.  The sign-up sheet is in the Fellowship Commons.  Don’t miss this opportunity!

The Program Committee believes that human development and lifelong spiritual development are continuing adventures. We try to provide opportunities for a variety of personal and interpersonal growth adventures, based on interests and talents within our Fellowship, as participants in our denomination and in our wider human community. Over time, our programs include topics of interest in arts and science and relationships to other people, nature and spirit.

We invite you to join in and to share your ideas, knowledge, and passions as you may wish.  Janet Harris, for the Program Committee
